The Board of Education meeting scheduled for
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 was canceled due to inclement weather
conditions. Rather than schedule another meeting, the district
has decided to combine the agenda items with those of the regularly
scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Petitions Available - Board of Education Petition forms for candidates for the Board of Education of Schoharie Central School District are now available. Three of the seven seats on the Board are up for election on May 18th (Mrs. Newell, Mrs. Schultz, Mr. Quandt). Candidates must be residents of the Schoharie Central School District for at least one year, be 18 years of age or older, and a U.S. Citizen. To obtain a petition either stop in to see Rose Wilber, the District Clerk, in the Elementary School Office, or request one by mail by calling Mrs. Wilber at 295-6652. Office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Petitions must be signed by at least 25 eligible school district residents and they must be returned to the District Clerk by 5:00 pm on Monday, April 19th. Board Meetings All Schoharie Central School Board of Education meetings are open to the public, except during executive sessions. Board meetings are convened for the purpose of conducting public business relating to the school. Meetings are announced in the district newsletter and the local newspaper and are posted on the school’s front lawn sign. Agendas are posted in both the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School Main Offices. Individuals or groups wishing to bring a matter to the attention of the Board are encouraged to contact the Superintendent prior to a meeting. The Superintendent will inform the Board Clerk and the Board President of your interest in speaking with them during the "Privilege of the Floor" or during the discussion of a specific item on the agenda. Interested community members are welcome and
encouraged to attend meetings. Generally, Board meetings are held in the
Jr./Sr. High School Library Classroom or Cafeteria twice each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Board of Education Adopts Goals for 2009-2010 At its meeting on November 4th, the Board adopted its goals for the 2009-2010 school year. To view those Goals, <click here>.
