F. Christian Spies Board Meetings All Schoharie Central School Board of Education meetings are open to the public, except during executive sessions. Board meetings are convened for the purpose of conducting public business relating to the school. Meetings are announced in the district newsletter and the local newspaper and are posted on the school’s front lawn sign. Agendas are posted in both the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School Main Offices. Individuals or groups wishing to bring a matter to the attention of the Board are encouraged to contact the Superintendent prior to a meeting. The Superintendent will inform the Board Clerk and the Board President of your interest in speaking with them during the "Privilege of the Floor" or during the discussion of a specific item on the agenda. Interested community members are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings. Generally, Board meetings are held in the Jr./Sr. High School Library Classroom or Cafeteria twice each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. »

Rose Wilber. Board Adopts Goals for 2008-2009 The Board of Education recently adopted revised
Goals for the 2008 - 2009 school year. Some previous items were
deleted after completion and two items have been added. Later this
year the District will be seeking input from parents, agencies, and
community members regarding the feasibility of a Universal Pre-K
Program. As part of that study, we will also be conducting a census.
This is one new goal. The second new goal, will be to conduct an
engineering study for a possible energy performance contract. The
initial energy review was conducted by NYSERDA last year and the
engineering review is the next step in the process, again looking at
the feasibility of such a project. An energy performance contract is
where the District initiates a capital project that uses the cost
savings from energy modifications to pay for the project (the
project is also state aidable). The contractor guarantees that the
project does not cost the taxpayers or District any additional
monies (or they pay the difference). You will hear much more about
