Schoharie Central’s Buildings and Grounds
Department had a very productive summer working on and completing
important maintenance. In addition to the usual process of every
classroom, office, restroom, hallway, gymnasium and cafeteria being
thoroughly cleaned, floors waxed and carpets steam-cleaned, the crews,
led by Supervisor Shawn Gathen, accomplished several major projects:
• Elementary School 1976 Gym folding doors converted
to padded walls, and ceiling and walls painted
• Elementary School 1952 Gym ceiling and walls painted
• High School Gym ceiling and walls painted
• Front lawn culvert repaired and new sidewalk installed
• Power supplied to Athletic Field scoreboards
• New High School office floor
• New upstairs High School TV studio floor
• New downstairs High School Art Room/Technology lab floor
• New High School Agriculture classroom floor, and walls painted, and
• Baseball field drainage improved.
