There are two community events in our area this weekend and during the following week that are intended to give families a little extra help as we head toward colder weather and the winter season.
The first is a Coats for Kids distribution at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Middleburgh. This will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 am. to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The second is a drive-thru food box pick-up organized by Capital District YMCA. This will be on Saturday, Oct. 24 from noon to 2 p.m. at 221 Victoria Drive in Delanson.
