Choral students attend performance of Chanticleer

Some Schoharie high school choral students were able to attend a performance by the renowned group Chanticleer. Chanticleer is a GRAMMY® winning vocal ensemble. They are known for their virtuosity and wide ranging repertoire.
Some memorable songs from the concert included an incredible arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” featuring two countertenor soloists, “Stormy Weather”, “I’ll Fly Away”, a powerful medley of “Follow the Drinking Gourd” and “Wade in the Water” and “Lopin’ along through the cosmos” by Judee Sill, arranged by a current Chanticleer vocalist, Adam Ward.
The group performed at the Orpheum Theater in Tannersville, NY. After the concert students had a chance to meet and chat with several of the vocalists. It was a wonderful evening and the members of Chanticleer were enthusiastic encouraging towards our SCS musicians.
