[Pumpkin] seeds of learning

Schoharie’s 2nd graders take their pumpkins literally: They transformed gourds into their favorite book characters.

“Second graders were encouraged to participate in an October Family Project,” said teacher Melanie Junge. “They could create their favorite characters from a favorite story, or just one they had read in the past, using a pumpkin. The students could do this at home with their families while still having fun!”
