Schoharie singers performed in Rochester at prestigious early March event

Two students stand in theaterWe’re going to have a little throwback to earlier in the school year.

We had two eighth grade students Braeden Beck and Andrew Martin from Schoharie Central School audition and be accepted into the American Choral Directors Association 2020 Eastern Region Junior High Honor Choir. Students had to record and send in multiple audio files and lengthy applications to be considered.

After their acceptance they traveled to Rochester in early March and spent four days learning music to perform in a culminating concert in Eastman’s Kodak Hall at the Eastman School of Music. Braeden and Andrew sang with more than a hundred students from Maine, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and all the other northeastern states.

They sang under the direction of Lynnel Joy Jenkins and learned music in multiple genres and languages.

Braeden and Andrew represented Schoharie with pride. Great job!
