The funds will be used towards the purchase of a dairy heifer to expand his herd and genetics. The Hellenbrand Lasting Legacy Award is a national award program designed to continue Mike Hellenbrand’s legacy through youth committed to elite genetics and his mission characterized by “Feed your passion, grow your potential, showcase your opportunity”. Tyler was selected from a large pool of applicants nationwide and interviewed with the committee in March.

Tyler has been extremely ambitious in securing additional funding towards his Dairy Genetics Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) through FFA and agricultural education, positioning him for success upon graduation with a well established base of genetics and animals. In 2022 he received $1500 from National FFA & NY FFA, and was also recently awarded $500 from Farm Credit East in addition to this monetary award from the Hellenbrand committee. His enterprising attitude and dedication to success are to be commended.
