Superintendent’s email on March 12 regarding scheduled events, precautions

The following email was sent to the School Community via SchoolMessenger on Thursday evening, March 12:

To the Schoharie School Community,

Please be aware the Schoharie Central School District has not had a confirmed case of the Corona Virus. That said, we are taking many precautions to keep our students and school community safe.

We are cleaning thoroughly each day and using our sanitizing machine non stop on buses, in classrooms and all gathering areas. The machine is listed as a proven and effective tool to combat the spread of the virus.

People want to know about school closing and events being canceled. The district will follow the guidance put forth by the Governor, State Education Department and Health Department.

This means the district will close if and when those organizations direct us to. The district will also follow the guidance put out by the Governor this afternoon regarding public gatherings. All school activities and events will adhere to limited attendance guidelines as directed by the Governor. Social distancing is imperative at this time. Therefore we will reduce the attendance capacity by one half for all non academic events and activities in the district.

Please contact the office of the Superintendent with any questions or concerns. Call (518) 295-6679 or email
