Seventeen talented Schoharie High School students have been chosen to participate in the Zone 8 Area-All State Conference at SUNY Oneonta on Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. Thirteen students are vocal performers and four students are instrumental performers.
Acceptance to Area-All State is based on a student’s spring New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo score. “Schoharie’s students will join other fine musicians from districts throughout the region of New York that spans as far as Oneida to Norwich and everywhere in between,” music teacher Carrie Styles said.
“High school students from these districts spend all afternoon and evening on the Friday before the conference and all day Saturday rehearsing under the direction of some outstanding conductors for their Saturday afternoon conference performance.”
