Substitute Staff Are Needed

SCS has an immediate need for substitute teaching assistants, substitute teacher aides, substitute bus aides and other non-certified substitute positions. The district offers excellent opportunities for area residents to work in a positive and rewarding environment.

Elementary Teacher (anticipated vacancy)
Effective date: Sept. 1, 2019
Minimum qualifications: Certification in childhood education 1-6 or early childhood education birth-grade 2; seeking dynamic, highly qualified individuals for probationary tenure track positions. Applicants should have prior teaching experience and strong working knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards. Applicants should be able to establish positive relationships with colleagues, students and families, observe and evaluate students’ performance, differentiate instruction and utilize technology to maximize student learning. A qualified candidate is expected to hold and maintain appropriate certifications.
Salary per contract, commensurate with experience

Elementary School Nurse
Effective date: Sept. 1, 2019; Salary per contract
Minimum qualifications: At least three years’ experience in an educational setting preferred, or other prior nursing experience; current NYS Education Department RN certification; ability to perform in manner consistent with professional standards, NYS Nurse Practice Act, state regulations and district policies.

Minimum qualifications: NYS School Building Leader or School Administrator/Supervisor certification

Fingerprinting

New York State law requires that the Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability conduct fingerprint-supported criminal history background checks for applicants for certification and all prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and BOCES.
