Substitute Staff Are Needed

SCS has an immediate need for substitute teaching assistants, substitute teacher aides, substitute bus aides and other non-certified substitute positions. The district offers excellent opportunities for area residents to work in a positive and rewarding environment.

Applying For a Job at SCS

All applicants should submit a resume, cover letter stating the position you are applying for, a completed application, three letters of recommendation, proof of certification (if applicable), and fingerprinting clearance. Selected candidates will be required to provide transcripts. For information on obtaining fingerprinting clearance, see below.

Teacher Aides – Part time

Description of DutiesSupervise children; circulate among students to ensure a safe environment. Assist students as needed and be sure they are observing school rules for safety at all times while maintaining a positive environment.

Effective date – Sept. 3, 2020 through June 25, 2021

Shift schedule – Up to five hours per day according to the school calendar.

Salary/hourly wage – According to SCEA contract.

Minimum qualifications – High School Graduate

Fingerprinting

New York State law requires that the Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability conduct fingerprint-supported criminal history background checks for applicants for certification and all prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and BOCES.
