Elementary School Drop-Off Procedure Update

The following email was sent to families on Oct. 12:
Good morning,
Thank you for your assistance in making arrival and dismissal run smoothly for everyone in the drop-off line. The line is getting backed up, but we can get your day started smoothly and quickly with all of your cooperation. The following reminders may help with this:
Pull your vehicle as far up near the end of the sidewalk closest to Main Street as possible. Please be respectful of the vehicles behind you, and continue to pull forward before letting your child out.
Staff will meet your child at the car if they are Pre-K. If your child is in a car seat and needs assistance buckling or unbuckling, please do not exit your vehicle to help with this until you are pulled as far up as possible.
For the safety of all students, only those parents who walk their children to school should be on the sidewalks. If you drive a child to school, you must remain in your vehicle and go through the drop-off line.  Please do not park your car and walk your child across the sidewalk. We have many staff out supervising the safe transport of children, but when adults are going back and forth, it decreases our ability to keep everyone safe.
Arrival time is 7:45 a.m. At this time, many vehicles are not able to send their child out of their vehicle until 7:50 a.m. However, with your cooperation following the steps above, we can get all of the children into the building faster and more safely. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
