Home-School Connection – February 2019

From the Principal

No Place for Hate

“I promise to do my best to treat everyone fairly.
I promise to do my best to be kind to everyone – even if they are not like me.
If I see someone being hurt or bullied, I will tell a teacher.
Everyone should be able to feel safe and happy at school.
I want our school to be No Place for Hate.”
This fall, everyone in Schoharie Elementary School again signed the No Place for Hate promise. We met as a school community, talked about it in our classrooms, brought in guest readers and speakers from Siena, and will continue to bring in more guests to send this message of compassion. The commitment of each of our students and staff members to become a “No Place for Hate” school has opened up hearts and healed old wounds. When you send your child off to school tomorrow morning, and here on out, please join us in our compassionate promise. Please forget to tell them to “Be Good.”  Instead, remind your child to be fair; to be kind to everyone; to speak up; to be safe and happy.
I Promise,
Mrs. Polikoski

Attendance Important Reminder

In the event your child is absent from school, please send in a written note of excuse with your child on the day they return, as required by NYS law.

There is a tremendous amount of items in our lost and found. Please encourage your child to search the lost and found for any items that may be missing. Parents are always welcome to visit lost and found for missing items.

Wonderful Wordplay
