Schoharie students named associate dairy ambassador, junior ambassador

Congratulations to sophomore and FFA Vice-President Savannah Traverse on being named Schoharie County Associate Dairy Ambassador at the contest on Friday, June 10th. She will spend the next year advocating on behalf of the dairy industry and bridging the gap between consumers and farmers alongside Emily Seaman from Middleburgh. As an ambassador, she will serve as a spokesperson and advocate for dairy farmers by attending special events to engage with and educate consumers on the nutritional benefits of milk and dairy foods; how farmers care for their cows and their land to produce a sustainable product; and the importance of the dairy industry to the local economy. 6th grader and Junior FFA member Peyton Hahn also looks forward to serving as a Junior Ambassador.
Formerly known as the dairy princess program, the  Dairy Ambassador Program aims to build critical professional skills and confidence of young individuals who are passionate about the dairy industry. Ambassadors will be involved in local and regional promotions and events. Ambassadors gain experience collaborating with a team, knowledge of dairy promotion and marketing programs, and will participate in sessions led by experts in public speaking, social media, team building and leadership.
Savannah and Peyton are both going to do an outstanding job serving on the ambassador court!
