Schoharie CSD has enlisted a School Resource Officer from the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office for the 2022-23 school year. A contract, which is linked below, was approved by the Schoharie CSD Board of Education.
The SRO is posted at the school during regular school hours every school day, and would also attend special events on an as-needed basis. The SRO is a Schoharie County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The School Resource Officer is tasked with enhancing the district’s overall security; providing an on-site law enforcement resource, for students and staff; promoting student awareness of crime prevention, Internet safety and conflict resolution; serving as a communications link between the district and the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies; and providing a positive role model for students.
