Student arrested for making threat

A Schoharie High School student was arrested April 14 and charged with making a terroristic threat against the school.

The student had been overheard making a statement about bringing a weapon to school on the last day of the year.

The district contacted the New York State Police immediately, who determined the threat was not credible. However, the student was arrested and charged as a result of their statement, and also faces disciplinary consequences under the district’s Code of Conduct.

Questions may be directed to the superintendent’s office at (518) 295-6679.
