Congratulations to the 11 Schoharie high school vocal students who were selected and participated in the Zone 8 Area All-State Conference. Acceptance to Area-All State is based on a student’s spring New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo score. Qualifying to participate in this festival is an impressive accomplishment.
Students join other outstanding musicians from districts throughout our region of New York spanning as far as Oneida to Norwich and everywhere in between. High school students from these districts spent all afternoon and evening on Friday, November 20 and all day on Saturday, November 21 rehearsing for their Saturday afternoon performance under the direction of expert conductors. This year we had students in both the treble and mixed chorus ensembles. The performance this year was at Cooperstown CSD. Our students represented our district with pride.
