Overnight, Schoharie village staff flushed fire hydrants throughout the village. During that process they experienced a significant drop in water pressure. They flushed the hydrants on district property prior to noticing the drop in water pressure.
They contacted the School District Administration around 3:30 a.m. The break occurred along the sidewalk in front of the elementary school. Our maintenance staff will have the break repaired today and the mess cleaned up. There is no significant damage as a result of the break. The district is expecting to have a normal school day on Thursday.
