Schoharie CSD is pleased to announce some important updates to our administrative team.
Carey Raymond, a former special education teacher with the district, will serve as the assistant principal at the Jr./Sr. High School. She brings previous administrative experience to the role having served as a principal at Radez Elementary School in Cobleskill-Richmondville CSD. Carey has also been assisting the district since the start of the school year helping Principal Danielle Piel settle into her new role.
Carley Ryan will retain her role as athletic director, while moving to the Elementary School to serve as the assistant principal in that building. She will work alongside Principal Laura Iseman, who is in her first year at Schoharie Elementary.
Superintendent David M. Blanchard said the appointments will be in effect immediately.
“With Carey Raymond and Danielle Piel in the Jr./Sr. High School and Carley Ryan and Laura Iseman in the Elementary School, we have a great team in place to move the district forward in the 2026-27 school year. This team brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and experience as we build better academic programming and student services, and look for ways to improve the overall school community,” Mr. Blanchard said. “They are supported by a dedicated school staff that has worked hard over the last several months during changes of leadership in both school buildings.”
These appointments will better position Schoharie CSD to meet the timeline of the NY Inspires requirements as announced by the New York State Education Department last week. These requirements include the Portrait of a Graduate framework, which defines the essential skills, knowledge, and character traits students should develop before finishing high school.
The assistant principals and principals will help guide the district from Pre-K through Grade 12 to help the district develop the competencies needed to meet the NY Inspires standards for success.
