Dear Jr./Sr. High School Families:
I hope you are enjoying summer (and the heat) so far! I wanted to share some school updates with you before August arrived.
We held a School Community Forum on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Here are the highlights from that meeting:

The Jr./Sr. High School will start 10 minutes earlier next year (8:40 a.m.).

Students will have a full period for lunch (some exceptions may apply).

All students will have access to extra help and/or clubs and activities with the addition of a built-in “flex period” at the end of the day.

Early dismissals for athletics will occur during the “flex period” and not during Period 9.

Class periods will be reduced from 40 minutes to 38 minutes to accommodate the new “flex period” schedule.

The Jr./Sr. High School is looking to change its cell phone policy starting this coming September.
I have attached a DRAFT of next year’s school cell phone policy in addition to some information regarding the Yondr phone pouch system. Please take a moment to look through these materials.
We will host another School Community Forum on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium to talk about the items listed above and more. All current and incoming students and families are invited to attend.
