The Youth Belonging Leadership Team finished off the school year by learning from Vesna Losvin, a community member about her family’s experiences with World War II, the Holocaust and moving to America as a young child,
After hearing some of her story, students boarded a bus to go to the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Lower Manhattan to view two exhibits, “The Holocaust: What Hate Can do” and “Common Circles”, an installation that starts with a focus on our shared humanity before moving into “Voices Against Hate: Lessons from the Holocaust” which used advanced interactive technology to allow visitors to ask questions of Holocaust survivor Anita Lasker-Wallfisch and a Jewish American veteran and liberator Alan Moskin.
YBLT is grateful to all of those who sacrificed their time and donated funds to support this powerful experience.
