Award-winning skills

Three Schoharie High School juniors and one senior earned awards at the SkillsUSA regional competition for career and technical education (CTE) students held recently at Schenectady County Community College.

Alex Cipperly won 2nd place in the precision heavy equipment competition. An SCS junior, he studies Residential Construction/Heavy Equipment at the Schoharie CTE School.

SCS senior Devon Ilowiecki won 2nd place in the crime scene investigation team competition. He studies Criminal Justice at Schoharie CTE.

Keith Diamond brought home a 3rd place award in action skills. An SCS junior, he studies Diesel Technology at the Albany CTE campus.

SCS junior Robert Dorrough brought home a 3rd place award from the carpentry competition. He studies Residential Construction/Heavy Equipment at Schoharie CTE.

SkillsUSA is a national organization for CTE students that promotes leadership, education, and personal and professional growth through local, regional, state and national activities and competitions. Both the Schoharie and Albany campuses of the Capital Region BOCES CTE School have active SkillsUSA chapters.
